Contamination Assessment

CRB's staff has extensive expertise in groundwater monitoring, geological and hydrogeological studies, the results of which are often essential in establishing procedural guidelines for further assessment work and remedial design at contaminated sites. CRB offers a wide spectrum of field investigative services:
* Hazardous waste and petroleum product site evaluations and clean-up studies
* Design and impact assessment of underground waste injection programs
* Design of monitoring well networks to assess vertical and horizontal extent of contamination
* Well surveys to establish groundwater gradients, flow directions, and rates
* Design of soil boring networks to establish extent of soil contamination
* Slug test and pump test designs to establish site-specific hydrologic conditions
* Soil vapor surveys to establish extent of soil and/or groundwater contamination
* Geological characterization of the subsurface to establish potential contaminant pathways
* Geophysical investigation for the location of underground tanks and drums
Our staff is health and safety-trained per the requirements of OSHA 29CFR 1910.120, and is equipped to conduct investigations using personal protection equipment and specialized field monitoring and survey instrumentation.
CRB has standard operating procedures and in-place quality assurance programs to ensure that our site investigation programs are consistent with the needs of the project.
Sampling and Analysis
CRB personnel have conduct numerous soil, groundwater and surface water quality assessments. CRB works with certified laboratories that require close adherence to established quality assurance protocols. All data are checked and approved by qualified personnel, and data flow is subject to routine maintenance and validation. Sampling procedures and frequencies are developed in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements. Duplicate samples are submitted on a predetermined frequency to allow for assessment of the precision of the applied methods. Blank samples are submitted and analyzed to monitor sampling environment, equipment, and procedure, and to protect the client against false positives.
CRB also offers on-site screening of hydrocarbon soil contamination consistent with regulatory requirements.
